January 2013. We expected a big crowd for Gary Perkins as his reputation is legend and we werent disappointed. Gary did a great set on his own and I cant wait to see him back with his band on June 8th.
February 2013.Tthe biggest crowd yet at SPANGLERS were entertained by Muddy Boots . Chris Mezza and the guys delivered a great set that really got everyone on thjeir feet.
March 2013. it's a cold sleety night outside but inside the music's hot and and a good crowd are hitting the dance floor to the music of Bob Keeley. Bob performs an eclectic set with songs from the Mavericks to Marty Robbins to Billy Fury.
April 2013 was the first visit to Spanglers of Mel Paul and Mary Lacey and the theme tonight was ol' fashioned Country music with an Irish flavour, reflecting Mar's Irish heritage. And the audience loved it.
May 2013. Local Duo, Speed Limit, entertained us tonight with Angie doing the singing and talking (and then some) and Tony providing the music on the Steel Guitar. Their traditional Country music went down a bomb with the packed house and Angies patter got everybody up and dancing.
JUNE 2013. Spanglers is one year old this month and going from strength to strength with the fantastic support we have from all you guys out there. To celebrate we pushed the boat out and at enoooooormous expense booked what is arguably the countries best Country act, Gary Perkins and the Breeze. BREEZE? They went through that room more like a tornado than a breeze performing traditional numbers like Grandma's Old Feather Bed to the more edgey Past the Pount of Rescue. The latter giving Andy the chance to unleash his considerable guitar skills. And Gary Perkins showed why he is regularly voted the best male vocalist in the UK. Supportd by the rest of the band, Rosie behind the drumkit, Steve on keyboards and Johnny on bass guitar, they gave us the best night so far at Spanglers.
July 2013. What with it being the hottest day of the year and a cloudburst, we didnt expect our biggest attendance but about 80 people turned up and the newly installed air con coped beautifully. Chris James provided 3 great sets and both the dancers and the listeners were equally happy.
Here's the photos.

August 2013. Despite the fact that it was the height of the holiday season and there was a Country Music Festival this weekend the attendance was hardly affected. Comments on the website showed that Stubby's gig was eagerly anticipated and we werent disappointed. an eclectic set kept everytone from the listeners to the line dancers happy. Thanks Stubby!
You will see some photos below of the SPANGLERS shirts and jackets which will be available soon. I will keep you posted with details.

September 2013. You people are amazing. Every month you are there at Spanglers supporting the club and we are so grateful. This month, Tim McKay, one of the top up and coming young artists on the UK country music scene entertained us. Tim's career looks about to take off in a big way as he has just signed a worldwide record deal with his band McKay. His set here as a solo artist is a little more traditional and it was well received by the Spanglers faithful. We probably wont be able to afford him in the future so heres some photos to remind us all of a great night.
October 2013. If traditional, old fashioned country music is your thing then not many acts do it better than 'Best of Friends'. Middy and Steve wowed the crowd at Spanglers with a set that included LoveBug, Kiss an Angel Good Morning and Middy's tributes to Gene Watson. Their 30 year friendship is very obvious in their patter and their harmonies.
November 2013. What can I say? Darren Busby has probably the best voice of any artiste to appear here at SPANGLERS and a sharp line of patter to go along with it. Country music from Western Swing to Zydeco and all topped off with the odd Drifters number. Fantastic!
December 2013. Clear Cut provided the music for SPANGLERS Christmas party and didn't we all enjoy it? a good selection of Country for the line dancers and the jigglers alike. What with fibre optic lamps, glow stick specs and bracelets and illuminated hats and skirts, the place looked more like Blackpool than Peterborough. but as the lady on 'Miranda' says "such fun". See you all next year!
