December 2015. Never let it be said that we don't know how to party at Spanglers. We were treated to a great night of music from the fabulous Thrillbillies, With traditional Country music and some great 60's classics all delivered with the Thrillbies great sense for comedy and fun. What a great night and with 2 photographers on duty we've got twice the normal pictures
November 2015. Returning to Spanglers for his second visit was Chris Raddings. Chris performed wide variety of music ranging from traditional Country to his own versions of pop music numbers. He has a great line of patter which allows him to communicate well with his audience and Spanglers crowd really enjoyed themselves.
October 2015 - My first thought was "these guys don't play an instrument, how will they sound". Well they sounded FABULOUS!! Just look at the rave reviews on the comments page of this website and you'll see how much everyone loved them. Thanks for the photos Derek you got some really good ones this month.
August 2015. It was my 70th. birthday so I couldn't be there but from what I have gleaned from the website comments and from reports from 'them as were' it was a great night. This was Darren's third visit to Spanglers and he still seems to be as popular as ever, so looks like he'll be back again at some time,
July 2015. Attendance tonight was back to normal to see Paul Taylor, A good crowd were entertained with good traditional songs performed by a man who obviously loves his material. just take a peek at the Comments tab on this website to see how well Paul was received;
June 2015. Happy birthday dear Spanglers, happy birthday to you...... 3 years old and still going strong! To help celebrate the occasion Kickin Country (Chris James and Brian Cox) performed three of, arguably, the best sets seen at Spanglers. Great patter and fantastic vocals and music from a raunchy guitar solo from Chris on Ghost Riders In The Sky to everybodies favourite, well nearly everybodies favourite, Wagonwheels. And to complete the party plenty of scrumptious jam doughnuts.
May 2015. A more contemporary Country act than we are used to at Spanglers but Desert Star were appreciated by the audience and even though Gary's voice gave out, Phil took over the vocals as well as lead guitar and they got through the set admirably. As they say in Showbiz "the show must go on". To quote Pistol Annie "two georgeous cowboys".
April 2015. Paul and Debbie Wright make up the country duo Fools Gold and this was their first visit to Spanglers. But judging by the reception they got from members I doubt that it will be their last. Their playlist included a lot of numbers that are not regularly performed by many other country acts but they really managed to keep the floor full of dancers. A really good night.
March 2015. Back for a return visit to Spanglers, Bob Keeley delighted everyone with his set. Unfortunately I had to leave early but from the comments on the website Bob went down a storm.
February 2015. Valentines and Spanglers - what a perfect combination! Jenny had made a special effort to decorate the room for Valentines night and it made for a great ambiance. Thorne hill was making his debut at SPANGLERS and judging by the members reaction he will be back. An eclectic set was loved by the listeners. the jigglers and especially the line dancers.
January 2015. The New Year starts here and it starts with STUBBY. This was Stubby's second visit to Spanglers and he didn't disappoint with 3 sets that catered for the enthusiasts of all types of Country music. From Raymond Froggatt to Bobby Vee, from Don Williams to Dire Straits, Stubby had them all covered and the fans loved it. Enjoy the photos!
