January 2014. Paul D. Hopkins played a great set which included a few numbers from his Roy Orbison tribute act as well as some more traditional country music. The fact that he was able to fulfil the request from one of our members for "The Impossible Dream" speaks volumes for Paul's virtuosity.
Elaine announced the fantastic news that SPANGLERS has been given the award from the online radio station ukcountryradio.com for being the best Country Music Club in 2013. What a fantastic achievement having only been going since June 2012. Thanks to all of you guys out there for making it possible.

FEBRUARY 2014. We were alll disappointed that Marie was unable to perform her Patsy Cline Tribute due to illness but the "class act" that is Logic more than made up for it. A touch of Irish country music went down well the crowd and the floor was full nearly all night. Thanks to everyone who turned out in what seemed to be record numbers , I hope we can top it again next month.
March 2014. Bonnie Diamond and David Coe from just down the road in Bourne performed three great sets of Country music with a few old rock n roll numbers like C'mon Everybody, Wake Up little Suzie and Matk Knopflers Cannibals.
April 2014. Luke Thomas and Melanie Greggain a.k.a. Luke and Mel were like a breath of fresh air. Their repertoire consisted almost entirely of modern country music and demonstrated Spanglers policy of bringing all sorts of Country music to Peterborough. Luke's guitar style grabbed everyone's attention right from the first raunchy riff of their opening number and continued through the music of Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban.
May 2014. I cant say much because it was one of the rare occasions when Val & I had a prior engagement but from reading the comments on the website it seems as if everyone had a great night. Jenny took some photos so I've edited them and here they are.
June 2014. Two acts for the price of one this month. Carolanne B and Alan, old favourites at Spanglers and Arizona Wes who was making his first appearance.
July 2014. All the way from their home in France, McKenzie - Zoe and Kenny, played three wonderful sets that had the floor busy all night. Everything from the much beloved Wagon Wheel to the underrated Cannibals by Mark Knopfler were showcased by Zoe's lovely voice and Kenny's vocal support and guitar playing. Fantastic.
August 2014. Winner of the Best Female Vocalist by the British County Music Awards in both 2012 and 2013, Nancy Ann Lee certainly lived up to our expectations. She may have changed her image but her performance remains absolutely top class. From her opening number 'Rockytop', Spanglers members were up and dancing all evening. Nancy's bubbly and sassy delivery marks her out as a real Little Miss Dynamite.
September 2014. This month it was time for a more traditional country music and who better for that than the one and only Dave Bryan. Dave had everyone up and dancing most of the night and his renditions of Johnny Cash songs like I Walk the Line were outstanding. Altogether another great night at SPANGLERS.
October 2014. Donna Wylde was paying her first visit to Spanglers and she was riding high on her success at last weeks Country Music Festival at Butlins Skegness. Donnas traditional Country repertoire went down very well with the Spanglers faithful and ensured regular traffic on the dance floor all night. I hope you enjoy the photos and I would like to thank Derek Franklin for his contributions.
November 2014. Gary Perkins & The Breeze. We had all been awaiting the return of Gary and the band for ages and the room was packed to bursting. I can safely say that not one person went home disappointed as the guys presented a gig that was full of music that we all wanted to hear. From contemporary country like Past the Point of Rescue (which really allowed Andy to show off a little with his guitar) to Grandmas Old Feather Bed. What a night!
November 2014. Once a year Spanglers holds a fund raising charity night and this year the money goes to the Stroke Association. The music was provided by the mega band Henry Smith and Country Dreams. Auctions, raffles, Irish Bingo and entry tickets raised a fantastic total of just over £500. Thanks to everybody.
December 2014. Tonight is PARTY NIGHT. Rarely have I seen so many weird wigs, flashing headdresses and strange fancy dress outfits but Spanglers people were determined to enjoy themselves and that's exactly what they did. Chris Raddings supplied the music and dressed mostly in black, he provided the perfect soundtrack for an evening of great fun. From leopards to dancing Christmas trees we all had a wonderful time to start Christmas with a bang.
